member of the pyroxene family of minerals.
History & Lore :
The name Enstatite is derived from the Greek word 'enstates', meaning “component”.
It was first described by G.A. Kenngott in 1855.
Availability :
Enstatite is a relatively common mineral, but is rarely used for jewelry purposes.
It is generally cut for gem connoisseurs and collectors rather than for the common
consumer.

exhibits a sub- metallic luster and a bronze-like coloration. There is also an emerald
